Kett’s Heights is a steeply wooded site containing a medieval chapel, chalk workings and Victorian garden terraces and steps. It was the headquarters of Kett’s Rebellion in 1549 due to the panoramic viewpoint overlooking Norwich. A Friends group is now restoring the site. Please be aware that there is a flight of steps from the entrance gate. There are also several sets of steep steps on the tour, although there is an alternative step free route to the viewpoint for those not able to negotiate the steep climbs. The site has some very steep slopes so please keep a watchful eye if you bring young children! They should be supervised by an adult at all times.
